The Tricon Communication Module (TCM) supports multiple industry standard protocols and physical media types.

Physical ports on the TCM can communicate with TriStation, other Tricon or Trident controllers, Ethernet devices, and Modbus master and slave devices.

The Tricon controller supports two slots of TCMs, which means there can be a maximum of four TCMs in a system. The TCMs operate independently.

Each TCM can be connected to a separate network, or they can be used in a redundant configuration.

Besides providing flexible communication schemes based on industry standards, the communication modules are certified as part of the TÜV certification process ensuring that communication will not interfere with the safety function. Such design ensures that a failure or disruption of the communication network will not affect the performance of the safety system.
