Performance Monitoring

ARPM (Automated Rigorous Performance Monitoring) is a comprehensive solution for plant performance monitoring in the oil and gas processing, refining, petrochemical, and chemical industries. The product uses real-time plant data and rigorous simulation models to extract validated process and equipment performance information. Overall costs can be reduced by access to real-time information on under-performing assets and anticipating the need for maintenance. ARPM employs simulation techniques with proven data reconciliation technology to provide plant operating data that is consistent, comprehensive, timely, and trustworthy - the only performance monitoring solution that integrates rigorous simulation, data reconciliation, gross error detection, and performance monitoring into a single user-environment. ARPM’s advanced equation-based modeling engine allows flexible flowsheet specification and definition of custom performance monitoring tasks.

Benefits
• Diagnose root causes of performance degradation
• Anticipate need for performing maintenance
• Monitor equipment performancerelative to design
• Determine economic impact of performance degradation
• Identify faulty instrumentation; resolve problems quickly
• Exploit intelligent soft sensor capabilities to calculate unmeasured process parameters
• Track performance against plan; understand deviations

A Window Into the Real-Time Performance of Your Process and Assets

Rigorous Model-Based Predictive Maintenance
ARPM utilizes rigorous model-based technology and data reconciliation to calculate validated performance parameters. ARPM enables you to identify root causes for performance degradation, allowing you to direct maintenance spending to where it has the most economic impact.

Automate Equipment Monitoring and Reporting
ARPM’s Real Time System (RTS) provides an integrated graphical scheduling environment that enables you to automate monitoring and reporting. RTS allows you to easily define complex event sequences for automated monitoring daily, weekly, or at any preset interval.

Evaluate What-If Scenarios
ARPM can calculate accurate off-line “what-if” scenarios using a continuously self-tuning model that represents your plant's actual operating conditions. You can also use ARPM models for evaluating the economic benefits of process changes.

Seamless Access to Data
ARPM's External Data Interface (EDI) enables direct retrieval of process and economic information from numerous sources, including the DCS, laboratory, and data historians. EDI has embedded direct interfaces to AIM*, PHD, and PI historians and also supports standard data transfer protocols such as ODBC and @aGlance/IT.

Ensure Data Accuracy and Validity
ARPM's built-in gross error detection and data screening functions can identify subtle drifts in sensor data to ensure the long-term accuracy of performance calculations. By quickly calibrating sensors before they trigger an alarm, plants can avoid accidents and unscheduled shutdowns.

Third Party Models
ARPM interfaces with state-of-the-art refinery reactor models from KBC Profimatics to accurately represent reactions in refinery units such as hydrocrackers, catalytic crackers, and hydrotreaters. ARPM also has integrated SPYRO coil modeling technology to accurately model cracking furnace operation in ethylene plants.
