Intrinsically Safe installations are commonly required specifically in chemical plants, on-shore/off-shore applications, the pharmaceutical industry, or any installation where there is an explosion risk.
In partnership with Pepperl+Fuchs, a leader in Intrinsically Safe equipment, we have developed a direct interface to the P+F lines of Intrinsically Safe I/O modules. These modules have built in IS barriers and field connections, that results in a significant reduction in footprint and equipment installation costs. The equipment and wiring has insufficient electrical or thermal energy to cause ignition of any hazardous gases, dust or particles..
The tight integration provides a transparent interface to the I/A Series control system, with setup, configuration and maintenance using standard I/A Series tools.
A full range of Intrinsically Safe I/O modules are provided to meet all your process signal needs, including proximity switches. These modules are certified for installation in Zone 1 and Zone 2, Class 1-Div 2 hazardous environments, with signal reaching into Zone 0 for Div 1. These plug-in modules are remotely mounted on pre-fabricated, plastic backplanes for DIN-Rail mounting into cabinets. Galvanic isolation provides a safe and reliable interface between the process and the bus. Built-in amplification properties provide a high degree of measurement accuracy and with a reduction in wiring that is comparable to a standard bus connection.
Hot Swappable for Easy and Safe Maintenance: The IS modules can be hot swapped in a running plant without the need for a hot work permit.
High Availability Solution: Redundant communications modules, buses and power supplies, ensures high availability, and bumpless switchover upon detection of a failure.
HART Capable with full FDT Support: HART communication is supported for those clients looking to realize predictive asset management. The Field Device Manager is the common engineering environment for setup, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of these ‘smart’ devices. Field Device Manager support DTM’s, and allows the clients to obtain the maximum benefit from devices from any vendor.
